Similar to other places on the world, people with disabilities face various challenges because of their disabilities. Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the world. To address the problems that people with disabilities face in Mbeya, Able Child Initiatives has created eleven goals, in a broad range from early childhood intervention to education to social and political mobilization..
Because of the limited funds, the board members have financed everything themselves so far, as can be seen in finance. Despite successes having been achieved by ACI, people with disabilities still face many challenges. To address these problems, Able Child Initiatives has created various projects. Able Child Initiatives (ACI) is a young non-governmental organisation located in Mbeya in Tanzania. ACI primarily helps children with disabilities to go to school. Because it addresses the issue holistically, it also helps the caretakers, often the mothers, with entrepreneurship as they have grown accustomed to staying at home because they always had to take care of their children.
